Philips Workplace Innovation - Sustainable Project Management
Philips believes a good working environment should provide comfort, practicability and freedom, so as to render its employees more creative and efficient. So, in 2009, the Philips Workplace Innovation (WPI) program was created, to turn the company into a better place to work in. The WPI principles: shared space, flexibility, mobility and sustainability. In order to spread the new concept, every new employee, as soon as integrated in the company, is given a notebook and a mobile. This way, anyone can work anywhere. Moreover, different on-line resources are made available for professionals to remain connected with customers and other Philips employees worldwide.
Ensure all spaces occupied by Philips were compliant with the WPI principles, which foresee modern, healthy, efficient and sustainable environments.
Implement an integrated project for all professionals involved. Particular attention was given to develop an effective lighting project, allowing integration of natural and artificial light. Other sustainable measures were applied, such as reuse of water and management of sustainable works.
- 33% reduction of potable water consumption.
- 84% of construction waste diverted from landfill.
- Acquisition of recyclable materials and furniture represent 36% of the total cost with materials.
- 75% of occupied area is provided with natural lighting.
