Cushman & Wakefield provided consultancy for the LEED New Construction certification for Warehouses 1 and 2 at the Log Trade logistics condominium, in Pinhais, Paraná, owned by JCR Administração e Propriedades. Now, the company has five warehouses certified. Other two are located in Gravataí, Rio Grande do Sul, and in Sorocaba, São Paulo. Besides the two warehouses, the Log Trade Administrative and Cafeteria buildings were also certified by the Green Building Council, totaling a full area of 30,508 square meters.
“One of the distinctions of the project was the green roof for the cafeteria and administrative area, also provided with zenithal covering, providing effective use of natural lighting”, says Marília Leite, Sustainability Analyst. According to her, measures like these provide savings of nearly 49% of power consumption in the complex. As for water efficiency, the condominium has a rainwater collection system on the warehouses’ roofs. This water collected is sufficient to serve all toilets and urinals.
The sustainability consultancy process at the Log Trade took about four years, including project inspection, construction works and the certification, formalized in October. Marília provided the project and construction consultancy. The initiatives for higher power efficiency were coordinated by Ivan Souza, Project Analyst.
