  • Philips Workplace Innovation receives LEED Silver Certificate supported by C&W

    Reduction of 33.95% of drinkable water consumption and recycling of 84% of construction waste. Recycled items total 36.21% of total cost of materials, while 75.98% of the occupied areas has natural light. With these marks, the Philips Workplace Innovation São Paulo project — with C&W’s sustainability advisory — obtained the LEED Silver Certificate in July 2014.

    It all started in September 2009, when Philips hired C&W São Paulo to implement improvements to the quality of life for the employees in the new headquarters. The project — that followed the LEED CI – Commercial Interiors certification process — reduced the consumption of drinkable water and energy, investing in the home office strategy and more versatile work stations. “The efficiency of the lighting project stood out with the implementation of an integrated system of natural and artificial light, reducing the consumption when the natural light is enough”, says Eliza Mauro, who completed the certification of the enterprise.

    From the 5th to the 7th of August, the sustainable construction market professionals have an appointment at the Transamerica Expo Center in the city of São Paulo, which is hosting the fifth edition of Greenbuilding Brazil - International Conference and Expo. In an area of over 8000 m2, 120 exhibiting companies - national and international - expect to receive 10,000 visitors to discuss and present the progress of green building works in Brazil and worldwide. Cushman & Wakefield, a founding member of the Green Building Council Brazil (GBC Brazil), has confirmed its presence.
